The Golden Thread is a mindfulness and yoga teaching practice based in Orkney, offering evidence-based courses and compassionate teaching to help people find balance, strength and resilience.
Barbara wanted a website that would reflect the calm, grounded and professional nature of her teaching practice whilst conveying warmth and accessibility. To achieve this, we chose a soothing colour palette inspired by the Orkney landscape—soft golds, sage greens, and muted coastal tones—paired with elegant serif typography for headings and clean sans-serif for body text. The design creates a sense of tranquility and trust, inviting visitors to explore mindfulness and yoga offerings.
Photography was provided by local Orkney photographer Kirstin Shearer Photography, beautifully capturing Barbara in Orkney’s stunning natural landscape and creating an authentic connection with the local environment.
We designed the custom user interface in Figma and developed the bespoke theme for WordPress, integrated The Events Calendar for course and class scheduling, created a blog section for mindfulness reflections, and take care of ongoing maintenance and updates for the client.
